The Braine Trust storage facility has been approved by the City of Cedar Rapids for an urban revitalization project.  This three story building will bring a unique flavor to the current market for storage facilities in the metro area.

The project, which will tear down an existing commercial site includes a specialized climate-controlled storage facility with unique options for moving containers in and out of the facility.  The project will be seeking net-zero status for energy use with a strict LEED certification.  The structures internal lighting shows through a semi-transparent exterior creating a glow effect that should help to enhance not only the building itself, but the surrounding area.  Neumann Monson's unique design-flavor and talents are on heavy display for the wonderful project.

Axiom Senior Engineer Nick Bettis was the civil design lead for the project and completed the overall site plan for the facility coordinating with the City of Cedar Rapids, Owner and Architect.  Construction is anticipated to begin in 2019.  The design team consists of our firm alongside NEUMANN MONSON ARCHITECTS (Iowa City.)
