BURLINGTON STREET DAM
Iowa City, IA

Axiom staff are in the process of the bi-annual inspection of the Burlington Street Dam for the University of Iowa.  This unique project involves the forensic investigation of the 100+ year old gravity dam and associated infrastructure including the Water Plant intake structure, Power Plant intake structure, stainless steel trash rack, Power Plant river-adjacent walls, and the downstream water main river crossing structure.

Axiom staff complete this project on a bi-annual basis for the University using FERC methodology and structural expertise to provide a comprehensive analysis and report which includes sector scanning and bathymetric survey elements.

Axiom owner Rob Decker is the project lead for this effort and is working with the building services team on the overall effort.  Working alongside us are our longtime friends and colleagues from J.F. BRENNAN (LaCrosse, WI.)  Brennan crews work in tandem alongside our own to complete the underwater portions of the inspection as well as the flash board repair.
