Axiom Consultants, in collaboration with Emergent Architecture, provided civil site, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering services for the Riceville Community Wellness & Recreation Center, a long-awaited facility that enhances both school athletics and community engagement.

For nearly 30 years, the Riceville Community School District envisioned a modern activity center to support students and residents. The new $3.4 million facility includes a weight room, a two-lane track, multi-purpose courts, locker rooms, and community gathering spaces. The center now provides essential space for school athletics and is open to the public, fostering wellness and recreation for all.

A key driver behind the project was the need for improved academic-athletic balance. Previously, limited gym space forced teams to practice during the school day. With the completion of this facility, student-athletes now have a dedicated space that enhances both their academic and athletic experience.
